#GOALS is an interactive educational experience to inspire 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students to Go Out and Love Science!
It includes hands-on activities and small group conversations with graduate students and healthcare professionals designed specifically for middle school students.

Who is invited to #GOALS?
- All 6th, 7th, and 8th grade students at Haynes Middle School and I.T. Creswell Middle School for the Arts have been invited to participate in #GOALS 2023.

What should I expect at #GOALS?
- #GOALS participants will be warmly welcomed at Meharry Medical College at the start of the day.
- Each grade level will be divided into small groups and students will spend the day engaged in a range of interactive experiences designed just for them.
- Middle school scholars will meet graduate students studying for careers in healthcare, along with doctors, nurses, and other professionals who will share their stories and encouragement.
- Lunch will be provided for all students.

How long is #GOALS?
- #GOALS takes place during normal school hours.
- Chartered buses will transport students and their chaperones from their school to Meharry in the morning and back in the afternoon.

What do students wear?
- Each student will be given a #GOALS t-shirt to wear, and they should dress for an active day.

When are permission slips due?
- We want all students to participate if possible, so we will accept permission slips on the day of the event – however, a student will not be able to get on the bus without one.
- Please check with your teacher if you need help turning in the permission slip

My student needs some additional help to fully participate. What do I do?
- All students are welcome at #GOALS and we want to do all we can to ensure every student can have the full #GOALS experience.
- Please make sure your teacher knows about any help your child might need. Thank you.
